Easy But Impressive Date Night Recipes
At Mama Flasch, we’re all about family meals, but every now and then parents need a date night to strengthen their relationship. Whether you’re cooking for your spouse or preparing your meal as a couple, we’re betting you’d rather spend time enjoying the date instead of prepping for it. Here’s an impressive menu that tastes delicious without spending hours in the kitchen.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice 8 pitted dates in half and stuff with blue cheese crumbles. Take 4 slices of thick-cut brown sugar bacon (you can order this exact amount at your local grocery store’s butcher counter) and cut each slice into halves. Wrap bacon around dates, securing each with a toothpick. Place on a cooling rack, and place the cooling rack on a foil-lined cooking sheet. This makes for easier clean-up! Bake for 20 minutes, remove and turn over. Bake for an additional 20 minutes. Remove and serve.
Elegant and easy, this salad is the hit of any dinner. Wash 8 Roma tomatoes and pat dry. Slice each tomato into 1-inch thick pieces. Arrange on a salad plate. Add a few balls of Bocconcini or Ciliegine mozzarella. Roll three leaves of fresh basil. Slice into tiny pieces and add to the top of salad without unrolling. Top with Sturkey’s creamy balsamic dressing, or your favorite vinaigrette.
Baked Sea Bass and Salsa
Coat a baking dish with olive oil and preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place two 6-ounce sea bass filets in the dish, and season with coarse salt. After 15 minutes, gently press on the filets to ensure they’re fully cooked. Remove from oven and add 4 tablespoons of Mama Flasch’s Gourmet Salsa to the top of each filet. Since it’s date night, we’d suggest Scottsome Heat, but the heat level is completely up to your preferences. Serve with steamed asparagus, broccoli or your favorite vegetable.
Ricotta Stuffed Strawberries
Wash 4-6 strawberries and pat dry. Slice off the tops and use a small spoon or paring knife to empty the insides. Spoon in about a teaspoon of ricotta cheese, and top with a dash of crushed pecans. If the mood strikes you, top with a drizzle of balsamic dressing or honey.
Add in your favorite bottle of white wine and your perfect date-night dinner is ready with less than 30 minutes of prep time. Impressive and oh so easy! For more ideas and recipes, check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and Instagram!
