If you want to make your 4th of July celebrations great, you really only need two ingredients. Those ingredients are fireworks and food! Since there’s no shortage of amazing fireworks shows that take place across Cincinnati and the rest of the United States, we’re going to leave that ingredient up to you. What we want to focus on is food. Specifically, how you can make food that both you and all of your guests will absolutely love. Because the 4th takes place right in the middle of summer, it’s the perfect time to grill up something awesome. Keep in mind that grilling doesn’t have to limit your creativity. Instead, it’s actually the perfect type of cooking to start with a classic and then put your own unique spin on the food. With that approach in mind, we want to share a very delicious recipe:

How to Make Delicious Grilled Salsa Burgers

Although this recipe packs a lot of amazing flavor, it’s actually quite easy to make. When you go shopping before the 4th, you’ll want to pick up 1.5 pounds of lean ground beef. You’ll also use 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs, along with your preferred type of shredded cheese. And in addition to burger buns, we recommend tomato, avocado and some sour cream. You’ll also want to use a half cup of your favorite style of salsa.

Once the 4th arrives, mix the beef, salsa and bread crumbs together while your grill heats up. Shape these into twelve 4-inch patties (each about 1/4 inch thick) and then sprinkle cheese in the middle of half the patties. You can then top those patties with the others, sealing the cheese in the middle for a tasty surprise!

When you put the patties on the grill, you’ll want to use medium heat for 11 to 13 minutes. Turn them over once during this process. Once the burgers are done, put them on the buns and add the toppings, including the sour cream and an extra bit of salsa if you like.
